Cowboy Boots + Plaster Of Paris = Bookends

002

I found a way to hold onto my boys' old, outgrown cowboy boots without sticking them in a box, sight unseen to be remembered no more.

Following the mixing instructions on a container of Plaster of Paris (which can be found at the biggest of the big box stores, or your local art/craft store), I filled each boot 2/3 full of it.

A little bit of moisture will ooze out from the leather as the plaster sets, but don't worry. Just wipe it off and later you can take a wet cloth and clean them up real good.

After the plaster has hardened, you'll have a great bookend.

Or just a unique way to remember your kids' feet when they were still small enough to be cute.
