Yearning

197

The last few days I've been overcome at odd moments with a sudden, urgent longing to see His face. A yearning to look into the face of Jesus and to "know even as I am known". (1 Corinthians 13:12)  This life is dark and but a faded mirror of what is to come.  Just as the chorus of a favorite hymn says:

Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing forever of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me lift my voice,
Cares all past, home at last, ever to rejoice.

Oh, I Want to See Him by R.H. Cornelius, 1916

"He which testifieth these things saith,

Surely I come quickly.

Amen.

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Revelation 22:20
