Hallway Makeover
A long, long time ago, when I was a teenager (about half my age now GASP) I filed away this decorating idea for some day when I'd have my own house. Now, after living here for almost 5 years, I'm finally incorporating it.
A house I visited, way back when, had each bedroom door painted a different color.
I was enthralled with this idea. It's been percolating in the back of my mind until now.
I decided to paint each door to the bedrooms and bathroom upstairs a different color - but the color of the room inside.
Then, I decided to put a sign on each door that would give a name or label to what each room was.
I don't have a "before" picture, but here is the upstairs as it was last Tuesday morning (all the doors were the original wood just like the trim is here):
This is what it looked like last Tuesday night after a coat of primer:
Here is the finished result after two coats of high-gloss enamel white paint on the trim:
The Boys' Room
The Bathroom
My Sewing Room
The bedroom The Man and I share.
