Trying to cut back on the non-essential items in our household budget, I have begun to make more and more of our own cleaning products. I have always used Baking Soda for various cleaning, but this combination of Baking Soda, Salt and Peppermint Oil has quickly become my favorite scrubbing product I've ever used. It smells amazing and gives me a little energy boost as I'm cleaning. Sounds quacky, I know, but I LOVE using this scrub. It works terrific on bathtubs, toilets, sinks, as well as pots and pans. This will work on anything that needs a good scrub.
Here's what you do:
Take Baking Soda, Salt and Peppermint Essential Oil.
In a bowl, mix the Salt with the Baking Soda in a 1 to 4 ratio (you can play around with this to your liking) of 1 part Salt to 4 parts Baking Soda. Add Peppermint Oil to your liking. You could use any essential oil - Lavender is also very nice. I like the pep in the Peppermint Oil. Pour this mixture into a shaker (check out the dollar store) and enjoy!
