Summer provides lots of challenges for keeping the little people busy. I've found a few things that have helped keep my guys (ages 7 and 5) happy. Jungle Jam and The Pond cd programs are fantastic. My boys spend countless hours listening to their cds. They are entertaining, fun, and teach great moral lessons.
My 7 year-old boy loves the Hank the Cowdog books. He'll even read them aloud to his younger brother. Sometimes.
And then there is their current project - creating, drawing and coloring their own comic books.
Here's a sample page from my oldest's book:
I am also going to be doing a little bit of "school" with the boys too, even though it's summer. It helps to have something for all of us to do together. If they're left alone too long, they start acting out Cain and Abel. Or Jacob and Esau. Except it's not acting. If all else fails, I have been known to bribe make them go out and start pulling weeds in the yard.
